About Skate Lessons Chicago

Skate Lessons Chicago was built on a passion for skateboarding and a desire to provide quality instruction to kids eager to explore the world of skateboarding. Established in 2002 as a test program under my guidance as a sports coordinator for a Chicagoland park district, it quickly gained traction. With a certification in personal training and a background in early childhood education, I embarked on a mission to equip youngsters with the skills needed to safely navigate the burgeoning skatepark scene.

Our inaugural class in 2002 was a resounding success, prompting me to transition from the park district to establishing as a premier skateboard lessons provider for park districts. Over the years, we've proudly served numerous park districts, some of which have been with us since our inception in 2003.

What sets Skate Lessons Chicago apart is our commitment to positive reinforcement and camaraderie. I believe in acknowledging and celebrating each student's progress while gently guiding them toward improvement, whether it's refining foot placement or mastering a new trick. Recognizing that many of our students are new to skateboarding, having come from backgrounds in traditional sports or other activities, I emphasize a supportive environment where everyone roots for each other's success.

Drawing from my own experience of skating with a close-knit crew, I encourage teamwork and collaboration in our classes. By grouping students with similar abilities, we foster a sense of community where they can push each other to excel.
